The first two-week theme is called American Heritage . During “American Heritage,” we explore the rich history of the early American West with its mountain men, trappers and plains Indians.
Campers and staff create a day-long “Rendezvous,” evoking a 19th-century frontier atmosphere. Events begin with a flapjack-eating contest and continue with games, fire-building, prospecting, bartering and “tall tales.” Our first regular session culminates with a dramatic Pow Wow; complete with costumes. All “tribes” come together to display culture, legends, ceremonies and dances that are particular to their cabin group.
American Heritage is all about outdoor fun - the mood is positive and mellow with non-competitive activities that build self-esteem. It's an excellent choice for first-time campers.
